Wonderful trip on Saturday, the 22-nd of September.

 

A coach will start on Saturday morning (8 o’clock) from Astoria-Traian Hotels for a wonderful tour in Bucovina. We shall visit the two well-known out-side painted walls Monasteries from the Northern Moldavia: Voronet and Sucevita, unique in the world, included in UNESCO heritage and treasury. Also, the famous black ceramics market in Marginea will be visited. The length of our itinerary is about 430 km. A delicious traditional Romanian lunch will be served in a restaurant near Sucevita monastery. The coach will be back to Astoria Traian Hotels at about 7 o’clock in the evening. The total cost, including the entrance tickets to museums is 40 EUR. All the interested participants have to E-register directly to prof. Cristian Zet, czet@ee.tuiasi.ro

Payments could be made in EUR or lei (120 lei) to prof. Zet,  during the first day of our symposia (19-th of September).  

 

 

City tour on Thursday, the 20-th of September

 

9 a.m  - 13 p.m.

 

The visit starts from Piata Unirii and will overview the most important monuments in the city center of Iasi: Unification Museum, Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral, “Trei Ierarhi” Church, The Palace of Culture and his museums, Dosoftei’s Bishop House and the ruin of middle age administration area. Walking on Stefan the Great Boulevard we can see other important old buildings of the city: The City Hall - Roznovanu Palace, The National Bank, The National Theater. The visit will climb to the Copou Hill, the heart of Iasi academic life, the place where we will see «Alexandru Ioan Cuza» University with Hall of Lost Steps (painted in frescoes by Sabin Balasa) and the library, French and German Cultural Centers, parks and gardens. Return to the central area and presentation of University of Medicine and Farmacy. Old houses and famous restaurants are also in the area. Transfer to Cetatuia Monastery for visit of Moldavian Princes summer residence. Back to the meeting point or transfer to Astoria Hotel.
