Iaşi county is located in the Northeastern part of Romania, close to the border with the Republic of Moldova. The city of Iaşi hosts the administrative leadership of the county, being the largest city in the Eastern Carpathians Mountains, and the second in Romania.

Iasi is also the most important historical, economic and cultural centre in Northeastern Romania.

Iaşi can be reached by plane from Bucharest using Tarom internal airlines. Flying with Tarom from some of the European countries will offer you a free flight from Bucharest to Iaşi. Austrian Airlines provides also direct flies from Wien to the International airport of Iaşi.

Iaşi can be also reached by car following the E85 (from Bucharest – Buzău – Bacău - Roman) and DN28 (from Roman to Iaşi) or DN24 (from Marasesti – Vaslui to Iaşi) or by direct train from Bucharest (see www.cfr.ro).
